The Bacolod City Business Permits and License Office (BPLO) is holding a mall campaign, called “BPLO On-The-Go” in the nine malls in the city for the processing of their 2021 business permits.

“Our policy is to make it easy and convenient for businesses to deal with the city government so that we can create an enabling environment for them to grow and help accelerate our economic recovery program,” Mayor Evelio Leonardia said in an advisory.

Stela Rose Rayos, head of the BPLO, said their personnel will set up a help desk in the malls on scheduled dates to answer queries about business permits, and to give out application forms for the 2021 business permits to those who can present a photocopy/machine copy of their 2020 business permit.

The malls include SM City, Ayala Malls Capitol Central, and Robinsons Place on Nov. 18, 19, 20; at Gaisano City, 888 Chinatown Premier, and City Mall-Singcang on Nov. 23, 24, and 25; and at City Mall Mandalagan, Lopue’s Mandalagan, and Lopue’s East on Nov. 26, 27, and 30, the advisory said.

Those interested may contact the Business Permits and License Office through bcdbplo@gmail.com.

            SATELLITE OFFICE

The Land Tax Division of the Bacolod City Treasurer’s Office recently opened a temporary satellite office at the first floor of Ayala Malls Capitol Central to accept advance payments for the 2021 Real Property Tax (RPT), with 20 percent discount, if the RPT due for the whole year of 2021 or, at the very least, for the first and second quarters of 2021, are fully paid before December 31, 2020, assistant city treasurer Arlene Memoria said.

While the CTO at the Bacolod City Government Center will continue receiving RPT payments too, this service at the mall will provide an additional venue for it so that payors need not all flock to the BCGC to pay for their RPT.

This way, social distancing protocols can be better observed at these two sites, Memoria added in a press release from the city.

ACCESSIBLE AND CONVENIENT

“This will make our services more accessible and convenient to our clients in line with our thrust to keep our city ‘business-friendly’ as it has always been our credo,” Leonardia said.

From Nov. 16 to 27, RPT payments at Ayala Malls will be accepted Mondays to Fridays.

From Nov. 28 to Dec. 30, the service will be made available daily – from Mondays to Sundays, except on December 25 when it shall be closed.

Meanwhile, RPT payments at the BCGC will continue to be received from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on regular working days.

Payments at the BCGC will also be accepted every Saturday in December and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on December 30.

Clients must bring their previous year’s official receipt or tax declaration.

For inquiries, those interested may contact the Land Tax Division at 434-7950 or 0915-522-6904.*
