Biz summit set in Bacolod mall

• CHRYSEE G. SAMILLANO

The Bacolod Business Summit & Expo 2024 with the theme “Building the Future for a Sustainable Bacolod,” will be held at The Central Hall of Ayala Malls Capitol Central in Bacolod City on September 13 to 14.

Initiated by the Bacolod Entrepreneurs United (BEU), the summit aims to foster strong business relationships, promote collaboration, and attract investments to Bacolod City and the Province of Negros Occidental. By bringing together key industry players from both local and international markets, the event will provide a valuable platform for networking, knowledge sharing, and exploring potential partnerships.

This year’s summit, the second to be organized by the BEU in partnership with the Metro Bacolod Chamber of Commerce and Industry, expects 500 participants and 50 exhibitors.

This MICE event will have six speakers to discuss the latest trends and opportunities in various industries, namely lawyer Jocelle Batapa-Sigue of the Department of Information and Communications Technology, Neil Montesclaros, Christopher Fadriga, Lemar Ledesma, Engr. Fulbert Woo, and Charity Delmo.

BEU founder and president John Anthony Ledesma said the three objectives of BEU are business networking, leadership development, and community service and development. As part of its social responsibility the BEU, as a business organization, will be launching a scholarship program to help Bacolodnons and Negrenses through its foundation, Dagyaw Negrense.

SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Ann Ledesma, BEU co-founder and vice president, said they will be launching the Dagyaw Negrense Scholarship Program during the summit. They want to “alleviate poverty through education, one life at a time.” They have partnered with the University of St. La Salle Center for Life Skills, which offers 45-day short course programs accredited by TESDA.

The scholar chosen by BEU to avail of this program can then be launched into society ready to have jobs, as business owners will be ready to hire them. This October they will already have one scholar, she said.

Those interested in attending the summit may register online via the BEU and BSSE Facebook pages. Registration fee of P500 will cover the two-day event.*
