Bongbong Villan Corp breaks ground for business expansion

As Bacolod City becomes the pasalubong center of Western Visayas, the need for the development of upgraded facilities and better and new food production and quality control is seen by the makers of the world-famous Piaya.

Bongbong Villan Corporation, a manufacturer of piaya, barquillos, butterscotch, napoleones, and more, is focused on the improvement of its facilities, coming up with a research and development facility. To employ an additional 80 workers, the Research and Development unit of the company shall establish an area for demonstration by other prospective suppliers wishing to provide raw materials to the company.

In a press release, the company announced its October 17 groundbreaking ceremony for a two-level building with the second level designed for an R&D facility and the ground area of 880 square meters, dedicated to the production of Bongbong’s banana chips and pinasugbo and more product lines. The new building is set to operate by October 2025.

With the simultaneous groundbreaking is the 3,200 square-meter Nena Building that will employ more than 100 employees to produce breads, pastries and cakes, and to include expansion areas for butterscotch, caramel and cheese tarts, cakes, hopia sibuyas, to name a few.

The Bongbong Villan Corporation sees a brighter future through its innovation of its products catering to travelers, tourists and local residents who find satisfaction in its quality products.

The groundbreaking ceremony is set on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. at the site of the new facilities at the back end of its Alijis Showroom.*
