Bootfest at former sugar mill

The PCY San Carlos City, Women’s Open champion*

“(We) are proud to be the venue of such a milestone event…we commend and fully support this program that encourages kids to have fun playing football and in doing so, assist in the development of their skills, competitiveness and determination,” Jennifer Ann Fong, vice president for Sales and Marketing for Megaworld Visayas, said in her welcome message on September 17, during the kick-off of the 1st Steamboat Football Cup at The Upper East, Bacolod City.

The tournament, presented by Gardenville United Football Club Inc., attracted football Clubs from Guihulngan, Dumangas, Barotac, Dancalan, Victorias City, San Carlos City, Moises Padilla, San Enrique, Silay, Talisay, Old Sagay, Sagay, Escalante and Bacolod City, and embraced the birth of a new football venue at the heart of the City of Smiles.

Tavey Limas, USLS Born 2009 Boys, said “have fun and do well,” as they braved their opponents under sunny field conditions.

In the Men’s 40 Above category, Island Rats FC was crowned champion. Other champions were Classico de San Carlos FC (Born 2016, 2012,2015, 2010, 2011), Agtuso Barotac FC (Born 2009, 2007 and 2014), Carabell (Girls 2009), USLS (Girls 2005) and PCY-San Carlos (Womens Open).*
