One of the biggest Tenpin Bowlers Group in Bacolod, the Monday Bowlers Club of Bacolod (MBCB), well known for its mission to assist in Health challenge of members and spouses and conducting training assistance for youth bowlers started the year 2022 with a community outreach program on January 8.
To align club mission theme “We Share We Care,” the recipients of the program were Negrosanon who were hit by Typhoon “Odette,” particularly those from mountainous areas and fisherfolk seldom reached by humanitarian aid, in Brgy. Maricalum, Sipalay.
Through the assistance of Reymond Lopez, Resort Manager of Lopez Beach Resort and Gideon Nombre, a local resident, the MBCB identified 83 families for assistance. The group handed bags composed of rice, noodles, sardines, bottled water, laundry soap, hand soap, nails, paracetamol and clothes.
A portion of the Club funds were used, along with cash donations from the club’s new officers and some members. Additional donations were noodles from Ms. Minnie Chua, nails from Jose Tan Jr, Paracetamol from Lyndon Reyes, fuel for transporting the goods from Engr. Ervin Espinosa, plastic cups and plates from Eric Buyco, 1-liter bottles from Rayian Alkaviva Water Station in Sibucao, San Enrique, sacks of clothes from Pat Mendoza and the truck to transport the goods was provided by Carmelo Alimon.
Special thanks to Lopue’s East Bowling Center and its staff for providing the venue for repacking.*
