Barangay Buenavista was declared this year’s Himaya Festival champion, besting 18 other contingents during the street and arena dance competition in Himamaylan City on Sunday.
The winning group also bagged several special awards including Best Himaya Festival Muse – second place, Best in Choreography, Best in Production, and Best in Costume.
Barangay Mambagaton was first runner-up, also winning Best Himaya Festival Muse – third place. Barangay Saraet was second runner-up, while Barangay San Antonio was awarded third runner-up while also winning Best in Street Dancing and Best Himaya Festival Muse.
Barangay Aguisan was awarded Best in Concept. The prizes presented by Mayor Raymund Tongson during the awarding ceremony held at Himamaylan National High School grounds.*
