The Bacolod City Legal Office (CLO) has issued a formal notice to Barangay 16 following the return of illegal structures and obstructions that were previously cleared from public roads.
Atty. Karol Joseph Chiu said that the notice is directed to Barangay Chief Jason Ligaya.
He warned that the city government can file an administrative case if the structures will not be cleared.
Mayor Greg Gasataya reminded barangay officials of the Department of the Interior and Local Government mandate to keep public roads clear of all obstructions.
He emphasized that once the CLO completed the cleanup, the responsibility for maintaining those cleared areas falls with the barangay.*
