Tribu PASPAS of Barangay E. Lopez was this year’s grand champion in the Kansilay Festival street and arena dance drama competition held in Silay City, on June 12.
The tribe took home the championship trophy and a P100,000 cash prize. It also took the Best in Kansilay Character special award, and was first place in the street dancing competition.
Tribu CINCO of Barangay Cinco was first runner-up, and received the runner-up trophy and P70,000 cash prize. It won special and minor awards: Best Banner, Best Lunok Character, Best Lawa-an Character, Best Performance, and Best in Choreography. It also won third place in the street dancing competition.
Tribu PANTALAN, of Barangay Mambulac was second runner-up and received the runner-up trophy and P50,000 cash prize.
Tribu ni RAMON of Barangay Kapitan Ramon was third runner-up and received the runner-up trophy and P30,000 cash prize. It also took the special and minor awards: Best Poster, Best Haring Bubog Character, Best Diwata Character, Best in Costume, Best in Headdress, and Best in Production Design. It also won second place in the street dancing competition.
Tribu HALARAN of Barangay Guinhalaran was Fourth runner-up and received the runner-up trophy and P20,000 cash prize. It also took the minor award for Best Manalagna.
The Kansilay Festival street and arena dance drama competition is one culminating event marking the 67th Charter Day Anniversary of Silay.*
