Barangay Mansilingan in Bacolod City crowned its champions of the Magsinadya Festival 2025 street and arena dance competition held on December 20.
Cluster No. 6 was declared the overall champion. Comprising Puroks Kasilingan 1, Kasilingan 2, Villa Maria, Sunrise, Kabugwason, East Homes 4, East Homes 5, and East Homes 6. The group received a P30,000 cash prize and a trophy. They also won several minor awards, including Best in Choreography, Best in Concept, and Best in Music.
Cluster No. 3, named first runner-up, is composed of Puroks Arceo, LaSalleVille, Hillside, Cabalagnan, ForestHills, St. Benilde, Grandville 1, Grandville 2, and Grandville 3. The group received P20,000 and a trophy, and also won the minor awards for Best in Street Dance, Best in Costume, and Most Disciplined.
Cluster No. 2, awarded second runner-up, is composed of Puroks Kahirup A, Kahirup B, Matahum, Paglaum, Himaya, and Carmenville. The group took home P10,000 and a trophy.
The trophies and cash prizes were awarded to the winners at the Mansilingan Gymnasium by Punong Barangay Franz Hughanne Tionko, together with Barangay Kagawads Rodolfo Pico Jr. and Edwin Importante.
Bacolod Mayor Greg Gasataya was present to witness the arena dance competition. Impressed by the performances of each group, he expressed his hope that Barangay Mansilingan would join the next MassKara Festival street dance competition. Gasataya also announced an additional cash prize for all seven participating purok clusters in the street dance competition.
This year, the festival committee required all performers in the street dance competition to be local residents of Barangay Mansilingan.*
