A minor and a barangay tanod were separately found dead on October 21 and 22, respectively, in Bacolod City and Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental.
Barangay tanod Michael Hugo was found dead yesterday at 13th Lacson Street in Bacolod City.
Hugo, a 42-year-old tanod of Brgy. 2 in Bacolod City, was positively identified by his wife, Nerissa, who told the police that her husband did not receive any threats on his life.
The lifeless body of Hugo was found by the police several meters away from his driven tricycle, after he was reportedly shot by still an unidentified suspect.
Brgy. 2 chairwoman Imelda Banguanga told Aksyon Radyo that Hugo being used as a summon server of the barangay.
The Bacolod City police has yet to establish the motive behind in the killing of Hugo.
On the other hand, the decomposing body of a 17-year-old was found on Oct. 21 in Purok Buyog-Buyogan, Brgy Magballo in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental.
Investigations of the Kabankalan City police showed that the 17-year-old victim, whose identity has been withheld by the police, left their residence on October 8 on board a motorcycle.
The victim, according to his father, was linked to a theft and robbery case which was recorded in their barangay.
Police probers noted the absence of any traces of struggle in the area.
Recovered from the area were red earphone, bull cap, wrist watch, a pair of slippers, a sling bag containing assorted clothes, an adjustable wrench, pliers and a wooden stick.*
