Bring smiles to the country – PBBM

• GILBERT P. BAYORAN

“Bring smiles not only to the citizens of Negros Occidental, but also to the entire nation.”

That was the message of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to the residents of Bacolod City, who marked the MassKara Festival, which started October 7 and ended yesterday.

Also known as the “festival of many faces,” the MassKara Festival has stood as a testament to the tenacity, optimism, and faith of Bacolodnons, despite the burden of their adversities, the President said.

He also commended the Bacolodnons’ determination to preserve their identity and promote the city’s culinary and artistic scene, and hopes the festival will inspire a deeper appreciation for culture, and support for local talents.

May this revelry, therefore, inspire you to appreciate your cultural heritage and support your local talents who have kept your indigenous knowledge and traditions alive over the years, the Chief Executive further said.

The President also encouraged Bacolod to become a model of peace for the country.*
