Bacolod Councilor Al Victor Espino yesterday said that he is proposing a revamp of the Bacolod Traffic Authority Office (BTAO).
Espino said they have already given the current BTAO head ample time. So, he will propose to Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez that he will need someone he can work with and who already understands his job.
They hope to get a replacement this week. However, they cannot appoint someone from any other government line agency to head the BTAO because the ordinance that created the office is civilian in nature, he said.
Meanwhile, Espino said they cannot designate BTAO head Police Major Junji Liba as administrative officer because they have no jurisdiction over the Philippine National Police.*
