FGS Yuan Thong Temple along Burgos Street, Bacolod City celebrated Buddha’s birthday with various activities on May 4.
The celebration opened with an art exhibition of the life of Buddha at the second floor of the temple, followed by the opening of the Bodhi bazaar, and rituals like Buddha’s bathing or pouring water over Buddha statue, wishing tree, sutra calligraphy, zen tangle art classes, a Tai Chi demonstration by Kyle Jocson, and meditation demonstration.
Buddha festivals offer a chance to reflect on the teachings of Buddhism, which highlight compassion, mindfulness, and the pursuit of wisdom. These events encourage individuals to understand oneself and one’s place in the world which can lead to personal growth and transformation.*
