Bacolod Rep. Greg Gastaya said yesterday that the budget for the construction of the Bacolod City General Hospital will be included in the 2022 National Expenditure Program.
Gasataya said this was the message relayed to him by the Department of Health after he requested Secretary Francisco Duque to include the budget for the construction of the hospital in the NEP for 2022.
The DOH has initially allotted P600 million for the construction of the hospital.
Earlier, Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel “Migz” Zubiri pledged that he will find other sources of funds, starting with an allocation of P200 million to augment the budget for the creation of the Bacolod hospital.
Zubiri filed the counterpart bill in Senate for the creation of the BCGH, that was signed into law as Republic Act 11564, by President Rodrigo Duterte on June 24.
Gasataya filed the hospital bill in the House of Representatives in 2019 and it was approved in June last year.*PNA
