
Filipino-Australians, who have been decades-old citizens, supported and cheered for the Girls Under 15 team of Buglas Futbol from the Negros Island Region, who currently rank second in the elimination round with a 3-0-0 (win-lose-draw) standing in the 33rd Kanga Cup International Youth Soccer Tournament that will run from July 14-18 at Southwells Park, Canberra.
“I’ll bring my electric kettle to the hotel… so we can prepare coffee at the field… it’s freezing cold there, 3 degrees Celsius, even at noon,” said Volet Carolan, lead volunteer and team chauffeur from Filipino Canberra Community (FCC) and The Filipino Community Newspaper in Canberra, Australia, where she has been for more than three decades.
