A road crash transpired along the road of Hacienda Balandra 2, Barangay Daga, Cadiz City, on Wednesday morning, resulting in the death of a one-year-old girl and injuries to two other passengers.
According to the police report, the tricycle driven by alias Jun, 29, with two passengers, including the infant, was en route from Barangay Andres Bonifacio toward Barangay Luna when the mishap occurred.
Initial investigation by the Cadiz City Police Station (CCPS) revealed that the tricycle’s front fender got caught on its front wheel, causing the driver to lose control.
As a result, the tricycle overturned, ejecting the driver and his two passengers onto the cemented road.
Among the injured were the driver and the 45-year-old female passenger. Both were rushed to Cadiz District Hospital for medical treatment.
The one-year-old girl was unfortunately declared dead on arrival at the hospital.
All victims are residents of Barangay Andres Bonifacio, Cadiz City.
The driver and the tricycle are now in the custody of the Cadiz CCPS pending further investigation into the incident.*
