The Cadiz City government recently boosted barangay disaster/emergency responses, with the provision of an ambulance/rescue vehicle to each of the seven beneficiary barangays.
These include Barangays VF Gustilo, Celestino Villacin, Zone 1, Zone 2, Zone 3, Zone 4 and Zone 6.
Mayor Salvador Escalante said they are the latest of the 22 villages in Cadiz City to be equipped. “Kon sang una tricycle lang ang gamiton during emergency (If we used tricycle before in emergency cases), now we provided the best and convenient facility to transport patients or any victims of disaster cases in the barangay.”
The brand new disaster vehicles also mean a brand new approach in public service, especially in dealing with emergency cases, he added in a press release.
“In the advent of challenging times prone to various disasters – natural or manmade – we also need to apprise our people with our newly appraised services meant for their good and convenience,” Escalante stressed.
“These vehicles hence will be a great reminder for Cadiz people that the city government is (always) with them in times of disaster or emergency cases,” he pointed out.
Cadiz’s mantra in terms of disaster responses, Escalante said: ‘Always one step ahead!”*
