A 25-year-old man was rushed to the hospital after being stabbed while walking home at Sitio Bombil, Barangay Minapasok, Calatrava, Negros Occidental around 10:20 p.m. on Saturday.
Investigation revealed that the victim was walking on his way home when he was suddenly waylaid and without hesitation stabbed with a kitchen knife by the suspect, identified as Roberto Bendoy, a married man and a resident of the same area, who immediately fled the scene after committing the crime.
Police said that the victim sustained a serious wound to the chest but survived the attack and is now under observation at Calatrava Municipal Hospital.
Calatrava police, in coordination with barangay officials, has launched a hot pursuit operation for the arrest of the suspect. The motive for the attack is still under investigation.*
