Campuestohan Highland Resort (CHR) in Talisay, Negros Occidental continues to gain recognition for its contribution to the tourism industry, having been named Best Resort in Negros Occidental during the Gawad Agustino – Gabi ng Parangal 2023 at L’Fisher Hotel, Bacolod City Wednesday.
On the same day, CHR was also given a plaque of appreciation by the Department of Tourism during PAGDAYAW 2023 in Iloilo City for being one of the top tourist attractions/sites in Western Visayas.
Its founder Ricardo “Cano” Tan, meanwhile, received the Gawad Agustino certificate of appreciation from the Tourism Hospitality Management Program of Colegio San Agustin-Bacolod headed by Belinda Berbenzana, Gawad Agustino chairman Christy Alexa Peller, and College of Accountancy, Business Studies and Computer Studies dean Airyn Apalle.
In his response, Tan said he is thankful that CHR was included by CSA in the survey. “That alone has made us happy that you have seen the role and potential of the resort in the field of tourism.”
“We never thought that Campuestohan will become a model resort when we initiated the project 10 years ago. All we want was to offer something that can make us all proud as Negrenses,” he said.
Tan said the initiative of CSA is something that they can be proud of and that the award they received is something that they will cherish forever.
“The recognition will serve as a challenge for us to up the ante in tourism. That is why I would like to announce that very, very soon, we will reinvent Campuestohan by offering another world-class excitement for everyone,” he added.
Campuestohan Highland Resort was a recipient of the Tourism Award (Resort Category) during the 11th Tourism Award of the Rotary Club of Manila; was ranked number 6 Water and Amusement Park in the Philippines according to ThePhilippine.com; and was among the 14 recipients of Skal International-Makati, an organization that works to promote global tourism and friendship.*
