Candoni is the lone Covid-19 free local government unit among the 32 towns and cities of Negros Occidental, with zero active case, as of Dec.15, the Provincial Health Office and Provincial Incident Management Team said yesterday.
The city of San Carlos, that recorded 442 confirmed cases, has the most number of active cases with 43. Talisay City has the most number of confirmed cases at 642, although it had only 12 active cases, as of Dec. 17.
The city of Silay trailed behind San Carlos City with 30 active cases, Bago City – 29, Sagay City – 24, EB Magalona – 22, and 19 each for Cadiz City and Hinigaran, the PHO and PIMT reported.
Other local government units with low number of active cases are Sipalay City, Murcia and Valladolid with two, and Toboso, Salvador Benedicto, Hinobaan and Escalante with three active cases, the report added.
Negros Occidental, excluding Bacolod City, has 6,203 confirmed cases, as of Dec. 15, with 5,664 recoveries, 369 active cases, and 190 deaths.
Of the Covid infected patients, 4,287 are asymptomatic and 1,478 symptomatic, with the status of 438 still pending, the report added.
The PHO and PIMT report also showed that, of the 6,203 cases, 4,580 have been classified as domestic, locally stranded individuals – 914, frontliners – 294, OFWs – 274, APORs – 77, while 672 others are still pending classification, and two in other province but tagged to Negros Occidental. As of Dec. 16, Bacolod City has 131 active cases out of 5,534 confirmed cases, with 5,230 recoveries, and 173 deaths.*
