PMaj. Nelson Amsiwen is the new police chief of Candoni town in Negros Occidental.

Amsiwen, who was installed on Tuesday as the new Candoni police chief, by PCol. Rainier de Chavez, provincial police director of Negros Occidental, replaced PMaj. Ruel Culanag during the turnover rites which was witnessed by Mayor Ray Ruiz.

Culanag, who served as Candoni police chief for one year and eight months, and is retiring from the police service, thanked Mayor Ruiz for his support to the law enforcement operations of the town police.

Mayor Ruiz thanked Culanag for his service to the people of Candoni, as he also expressed his appreciation to the efforts of town police and the service they extended to his constituents.

De Chavez also commended Culanag for a job well done in Candoni. At the same time, he challenged Amsiwen to maintain, or move forward the legacy left behind by his predecessor.
