Cansi house hosts all woman art exhibit

An all-women group art exhibition opened at Eron’s Cansi House at Narra Avenue, Capitol Shopping Center, Bacolod City yesterday, with Councilors Em Legaspi-Ang and Jason Villarosa as guests of honor.

Ang is chairman of the Sangguniang Panlungsod Committee on History, Arts and Culture, while Villarosa is chairman of the SP Committee on Tourism.

Titled “Arte Negrense”, the show is part of the 48th founding anniversary celebration of the Art Association of Bacolod-Negros (AAB-N) and features its women artists.

It showcases the works of Jenevieve Abeto, Angela Caberte, Miriam Bayles, Yshie Kezia Emperado, Konica Faustino, Vicky Gasper, Rose Jemino, Marj Masangkay, Pablita Nava, Patty Jane Ong, Therese Mae Ortaliz, Chrysee Samillano, Svet Sevilleno, Cora Soriano, Fe Sumagaysay, and Gigi Villamor.

Also present at the opening yesterday were couple Joern and Erly Baade and their son Eron, owners of the establishment.

AAB-N, the longest running art association in the country, next to the Art Association of the Philippines, will be holding another group art exhibition this month as part of its 48th founding anniversary.

The association will be celebrating its golden anniversary on July 4, 2025.*
