Capitol cab system implemented

BY GILBERT P. BAYORAN

All departments of the provincial government of Negros Occidental are now enjoying easy access to transportation through the Capitol cab system.

This was after the provincial government recovered and repaired a fleet of vehicles that were unattended for years in repair shops.

As a result, Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz yesterday said that they were able to recover 15 mostly unrepaired vehicles, which are now being used by Capitol employees, exclusively for government use only, after being reconditioned and repaired.

We now have a pool of cars, from van to sedan, and mini truck crew cab, Diaz said.

This is also in line with the implementation of digital system in the use of vehicles wherein any office of the provincial government that need to use vehicles for monitoring and delivery of services will have to apply in the online system, he added.

The Capitol cab system aims to avoid monopoly of vehicles to a certain Capitol department, Diaz also said.

Medical front liners in government hospitals having a night duty may also avail of the Capitol cab services, he added.

Diaz also said that any offices or employees will be issued with a show cause order for the improper use of government property.

The provincial government of Negros Occidental recently purchased six ambulances equipped with negative pressure to transport patients with infectious diseases.*
