The provincial government of Negros Occidental has managed to distribute the P50 million worth of financial aid to beneficiaries of the Presidential Assistance to Farmers, Fisherfolk and their Families (PAFFF) in the province, a day before the July 26 deadline set by Malacañang for its distribution, Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson disclosed yesterday.
Lacson advised some PAFFF beneficiaries, who failed to make it during the distribution of financial assistance in their respective areas, may claim it at the Provincial Capitol in Bacolod City.
Otherwise, we might return the excess money to the national government, if not being claimed, the governor said.
Each beneficiary affected by the El Nino phenomenon, got P10,000 financial aid from the government.
Lacson lauded the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist and the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office for being able to distribute the financial aid, within the prescribed period.
PAFFF beneficiaries in Bacolod City, also received a total of P10 million worth of financial assistance.*
