The Performance Based Bonuses (PBB) of more than 3,000 regular and casual employees of the provincial government of Negros Occidental remains in limbo due to the lack of guidelines from the Department of Budget of Management.
The PBB was targeted to be released by the provincial government as early as January this year.
During a courtesy call with Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson, Renelo Lastierre, the president of the Progressive Alliance of Capitol Employees (PACE), yesterday said that they were told by the Governor that the provincial government is still awaiting the DBM and Civil Service Commission joint circular for the issuance of PBB.
The PBB is equivalent to 60 percent of the basic salary of a local government unit employee.
Lastierre recalled that the provincial government even readied funds for it, since December last year.
“I believe that the province is ready to comply with the requirements,” he said.
He added that PACE understands that there is an impediment preventing the province from distributing the bonus.*
