Capitol employees to receive bigger bonus

The more than 3,000 employees Negros Occidental provincial government employees may expect a merrier yuletide season celebrations before year 2021 ends, after receiving their 14-month pay, which is equivalent to a month salary and P5,000 cash gift.

Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz yesterday confirmed that Capitol employees will receive additional bonuses “greater” that the amount they received in 2020.

Last year, Capitol employees got an additional P40,000 bonuses from the provincial government under the leadership of Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson and Vice Gov. Jeffrey Ferrer.

Diaz, however, said that exact amount will be announced by Gov. Lacson in due time, noting that the provincial government received so many awards, that would serve as basis in giving additional bonuses.

He also said that bonuses are expected to boost the morale of Capitol employees, who gave out their best efforts in extending services to their fellow Negrenses despite the COVID-19 pandemic.

As to the four-day work scheme of Capitol employees, Diaz said it remains in effect, as of this time, although the threat of COVID-19 among provincial government workers is now under control.

Despite of the four-day work scheme, he reported that many Capitol workers are still reporting for duty on Friday, where online meetings and documentations usually being held.*
