The provincial government of Negros Occidental is eyeing the development of its 7,000 square meter prime lot vacated by the Land Transportation Office and Boy Scout of the Philippines at the Cottage Road in Bacolod City, into a BPO Center through Public Private Partnership.
This will be another income generating asset for the provincial government, disclosed Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson.
The LTO Bacolod was transferred to another Capitol owned property in Sitio Manayaosayao in Brgy. Mansilingan, Bacolod City.
Lacson said that the Veterans Bank beside the BSP building is moving out, and they are also trying to recover another property where the unused Women Center is located.
The provincial government of Negros Occidental is also strengthening the legal basis for the takeover of a building next to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) in Bacolod City, which was previously used by the University of St La Salle College of Medicine.
Both the CLMMRH and provincial government are claiming the property.
Lacson wants to convert it into a place where relatives or helpers of patients confined at the CLMMRH, especially out of town, can temporarily stay.
He said the Deed of Donation of the building was “so general.” There were no specific conditions, Lacson said, as he admitted that it may be difficult for them to ask that it be returned, as it seems they have not violated anything.*
