The provincial government of Negros Occidental is conducting a study to tap its real estate properties, in Talisay City or Bacolod City, as a probable venue for Negros Island Region (NIR) regional offices in the province.
The provincial government has a 7,000-square meter property recently vacated by the Land Transportation Office and Boy Scouts of the Philippines along Cottage Road and Lacson Street, respectively, in Bacolod City.
Several years ago, the provincial government of Negros Occidental purchased a 25-hectare property in Barangay Matab-ang, Talisay City.
Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said the provincial government can put up a high rise building to house the different regional offices in Bacolod City, adding that they can pursue a Public Private Partnership in the construction of structure.
