Amid 11 COVID-19 related deaths in the first two weeks of this month, Provincial Inter Agency Task Force action officer Atty. Rayfrando Diaz yesterday said that he is hopeful that cases will go down soon.

Diaz said 28 COVID-19 patients are now being treated at the Cadiz District Hospital, equivalent to 31 percent occupancy.

About 100 beds at CDH have been allocated for COVID-19 patients.

The Provincial Incident Management Team logged zero COVID-19 deaths as of December 12, although it has 10 new cases, bringing the total to 284.

COVID 19-cases went to as high as 308 this month.

“We hope our COVID-19 cases will continue to go down,” Diaz said.

Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson reiterated his reminders for Negrenses to observe health protocols despite the relaxation of restrictions, especially now that the yuletide season is being marked.

“The numbers are going up and then going down,” Lacson said.*
