The Provincial Government of Negros Occidental opened the third Renewable Energy Week Expo at the SMX Convention Center in Bacolod City, yesterday.

Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson welcomed local officials and participants, marking the start of the three-day event aimed at transitioning the province toward sustainable power sources.

It is organized in coordination with the Department of Energy, the Negrosanon Initiative for Climate and the Environment, and the Negros Women for Tomorrow Foundation Inc.

The expo highlights the need to strengthen renewable energy adoption, reduce dependence on traditional fuel sources, and collaboration among key sectors.

Featured the opening were forums, and exhibits focused on solar solutions, electric vehicles, and the launch of the Negros Occidental Energy Innovation Sprint.

Provincial Consultant Rafael Coscolluela underscored the vision of the province, stating it aims to maintain a stable power supply even during national grid instabilities.

The event features various green technology displays and will run through May 9.*
