The contracts of more than 1,600 Job Order workers and Contract of Service employees for 2023 were renewed by the provincial government of Negros Occidental, according to Provincial Administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz.

Diaz, however said that the provincial government did not renew the contracts of 20 job order workers due to poor performance.

The workers hired by the provincial government are composed of more than 900 JO workers and about 700 COS employees.

Diaz also announced the daily salary of JO workers has been increased to P481 per day, while COS employees get a monthly salary which corresponds to their occupied positions and salary grades.

Due to the implementation of Personnel Information System by the provincial government, Diaz said it is now easier to process the renewal of contracts, and also avoid the gap in the releasing of salaries of JO workers and COS employees.

In previous years, JO workers have to wait for three months to get their salaries.

Diaz also said that JO and COS workers now receive their salaries through ATM.*
