After completing the Children’s Playground at the Provincial Lagoon and Park, the provincial government of Negros Occidental is eyeing the conversion of the skating rank in the same area into a pet and dog park.
Noting that the skating rink doesn’t appear to be a popular area for skaters, as some already use the main thoroughfares, Provincial Administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz said the conversion plan is going to be a popular development for the lagoon, especially among pet lovers.
Diaz said they will put up some facilities in the pet corner, with the blessing targeted in time for the birthday of Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson.
The provincial government is also installing solar lights at the Children’s Playground area of the Provincial Lagoon and Park to ensure the safety and security of children especially during night time.
Diaz said the lights will be at no cost to the Capitol as it will be donated by a private entity.
He disclosed that Lacson expressed his concern on the safety of children, whom he noted are playing at the playground even during night time.
That is why we are installing solar lights, he added.
To address flooding and muddy grounds at the playground area, Diaz said they will install artificial carabao grass. The Capitol Lagoon is open to the public until 10 p.m.*
