The Department of Education – Negros Occidental Division received P12.8 million in financial assistance on May 19 from the provincial government of Negros Occidental.
Of the amount, P4,428,000 is earmarked for the operation, salaries and wages of non-teaching personnel and scholars of the Negros Occidental Science High School, and P5 million to finance various projects of the Negros Occidental High School.
The press statement from the provincial government also said that P3,080,000 will be used to support the Literacy Development, Alternative Learning System (ALS) and SPED (Special Education) Literacy of teachers.
On the other hand, an amount of P300,000 has been also allocated to support the secondary school student athletes who will participate in the Provincial Qualifying Sports Competitions, it added.
Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson turned over the P12.8 million to Schools Division Superintendent Marsette Sabbaluca, witnessed by Caren Moscoso, ALS Education Program Specialist, NOHS assistant principal Milagros Abanales, Rebonie Emboltorio, Senior Education Program Specialist, and NOSHS principal Emma Dequito, among others.*
