A 57-year-old carpenter who ran amok outside his residence on Thursday evening at Sunshine Village, Barangay 3, Hinigaran, Negros Occidental was mauled by two of his neighbors.
The initial investigation by Hinigaran Municipal Police Station revealed that based on the statement of the victim’s niece, the victim was creating alarm and scandal outside their house, along a dark portion of the road.
Due to the commotion, two suspects identified by their aliases “Rudy” and “Eli” suddenly mauled the victim allegedly using a hard object, causing injuries on different parts of the victim’s body.
As a result, the victim sustained several injuries in various parts of his body and was immediately brought to the nearest hospital for treatment.
Both suspects were arrested and are now under the custody of Hinigaran MPS for proper disposition.
On the same day, a 35-year-old laborer in Don Salvador Benedicto was stabbed by his older brother while having a drinking session at Purok Humayan, Barangay Bunga.
The investigation revealed that the suspect identified as the 49-year-old “Ron-ron” was having a drinking spree together with some friends. Subsequently, his younger brother came, and was under the influence of liquor.
The suspect confronted the victim which led to a heated argument and commotion where the latter suddenly drew his knife but the suspect managed to grab it and ended up stabbing his younger brother.
As a result, the victim sustained a stab wound on his left chest and was rushed to Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital Bacolod City for immediate medical treatment.
Police have taken custody of the suspect as part of the ongoing investigation.*
