Good news for hog raisers affected by swine diseases in Negros Occidental.
Provincial Administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz announced yesterday that the distribution of cash assistance to hog raisers affected by various swine diseases, will start next week.
Diaz said that the provincial government will give P2,000 for each affected hog raiser.
Swine diseases, including African Swine Fever and hog cholera, has affected 3,762 hog raisers in 151 barangays of 20 towns and cities in Negros Occidental.
Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson is slated to lead the distribution of cash aid, with the hardest hit areas, such as San Enrique, Ilog, and Bago City to be prioritized in the distribution of assistance, according to Diaz.
As of July 13, hog mortalities in Negros Occidental has reached 16,888, with losses now valued at P191.8 million, according to reports of the Provincial Veterinarian Office.*
