A total of 145 households in Barangay 27, Bacolod City, who were affected by a massive fire in September, received financial assistance yesterday at the Bacolod City Government Center, through the Emergency Housing Assistance Program of the National Housing Authority (NHA).
The 144 households that were totally damaged each received P30,000, while one beneficiary whose home was partially damaged received P10,000.
“This assistance is for them to rebuild their burned houses. We hope that they will buy housing materials using the assistance they received,” said NHA Senior Community Support Service Officer Chelzy Jane Caspe.
The beneficiaries were based on the masterlist provided by the Department of Social Services and Development (DSSD).
Caspe added that they relied on the validation and completion of documents of the recipients to the DSSD.
On September 12, over 200 houses were razed by fire in Purok Ceriza, Barangay 27, Bacolod City.*
