The Bacolod City local government together with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), is set to begin the distribution of Emergency Cash Transfer assistance this Saturday, for residents whose homes were damaged by Typhoon Tino.
A total of 18,253 families are slated to receive assistance from the first batch of the DSWD allocation for the city, totaling P114.9 million.
The financial aid is categorized based on the extent of damage to the homes, with 3,430 households whose homes were fully damaged to receive P10,325 each.
Meanwhile, 14,823 households whose homes were partially damaged will receive P5,369 each.
Bacolod City Mayor Greg Gasataya confirmed the distribution details following a meeting with the DSWD, Department of Social Services and Development and the Liga ng mga Barangay last Tuesday.
The first tranche of the distribution, which covers beneficiaries from Barangays 1 up to Felisa, is scheduled for this December.
The distribution will prioritize the totally damaged households.
The remaining beneficiaries, including those from Barangay Granada up to Barangay Vista Alegre, are expected to receive their aid in early January of next year.
Gasataya earlier announced on Monday that the DSWD allotted over a P100 million cash assistance for the typhoon-hit households.*
