The Christian Bible Baptist Church-Hinigaran will mark its 27th anniversary on Sunday, October 27, with a special celebration at Sto. Rosario Elementary School in Barangay Nanunga, Hinigaran, Negros Occidental. The Church, located at M.H. Del Pilar Extension in Brgy. III, is under the leadership of Pastor Yomelito Guerrero.

The event is expected to draw many visitors, and the Church has prepared a program to welcome its guests. The day will begin with Sunday School and a morning worship service, followed by a fellowship of the Baptist Youth for Christ (BYC) in the afternoon. A Sunday afternoon service will also be held at the Church.

In anticipation of the anniversary, the Church will hold a motorcade today, October 26, through the major thoroughfares of Hinigaran to invite and encourage the community to join the celebration.

The Church’s journey began in 1994 when Pastor Yomelito Guerrero was sent as a missionary by the Christian Bible Baptist Church of San Pedro, Laguna, under the leadership of Dr. Edmundo Laurena.

Through dedicated prayer, door-to-door soul-winning, and home Bible studies, the mission work took root, and the congregation grew. Many were added to the Church through personal Christian experiences, restoration, and baptism.

By 1997, the Church was officially chartered with 28 members who publicly testified to their salvation and baptism by immersion.

The Church continued to flourish, and in 2003, it purchased a 500 sq. m. lot on an installment basis. Though the financial commitment was a significant challenge, particularly for Pastor Yomelito, the congregation persevered. Through the highs and lows, they trusted in God’s grace, confident that He would see them through.

In 2005, the Church established a Bible Institute to train young people who felt called to serve. By God’s grace, Christian Bible Baptist Church-Hinigaran has since sent six missionaries into the mission field.

In 2012, the Church completed the full payment for its lot and began constructing a two-story building to accommodate its growing congregation. Despite the many challenges it has faced, the Church continues to thrive, grounded in its commitment to Christian stewardship.

Today, the Christian Bible Baptist Church-Hinigaran is growing both in size and in its faithfulness to God’s mission. The Church remains dedicated to spreading the gospel and trusting in the Lord’s provision for the future.

To Him be all the glory and praise for the great things He has done.*
