Central Negros Power Reliability Incorporated (CENPRI) is urging the public to support the national government’s energy saving campaign by maximizing the use of public transportation.
The power generation company, which operates a diesel plant in Barangay Calumangan, Bago City, stated that public cooperation in saving energy is a crucial step in addressing rising economic costs.
Spokesperson Emmanuel Canto, also expressed their unity with the austerity measures implemented by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
He noted that the government’s focus on energy conservation and the suspension of certain excise taxes helps soften the impact of the crisis on the Filipino people.
In line with this, CENPRI has started its own internal measures, including limiting company travel to essential business and implementing ride-sharing schemes for employees.
The company is also monitoring fuel consumption for its generators more strictly and cutting down on unnecessary energy-wasting practices within its facilities.
Canto said that the firm continues to provide supplementary power supply during periods of peak demand and emergencies.
The company is also focusing on workplace safety by conducting regular inspections of power cords and electrical fixtures to prevent fires and electrical shocks.*
