The Bacolod Police Station 3 has formally filed criminal complaints for murder and frustrated murder against the suspect in the fatal shooting of two siblings in Barangay Mandalagan late last month.
The charges were filed last Tuesday against the suspect alias “Ungi,” who is allegedly behind the ambush that occurred in Purok Active, Barangay Mandalagan, on September 29.
The gunman was identified through the positive identification of the witness, who executed an affidavit.
Police reports indicate the incident involved two brothers who were riding on a motorcycle when they were ambushed by suspects, also riding a motorcycle.
The victim who succumbed to fatal injuries was identified as alias ‘Harold’, while his younger brother, alias ‘Harley,’ sustained wounds.
Authorities stated that based on evidence gathered, the main focus of the investigation for the motive behind the crime is now on the illegal drug trade.
Bacolod City Police Office Director PCol. Joeresty Coronica stated that alias “Ungi,” is a person of interest with a prior criminal record.
The suspect’s history includes a previous murder case in the northern part of the province, along with involvement in past carnapping and robbery incidents.*
