The Habitat for Humanity Philippines turned over the Child Development Center to the San Carlos City government on December 2, at the Metrobank Village (SCMCI Project Site), Brgy. Palampas, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental.
The signing of certificate of acceptance and deed of donation also took place.
Engr. Bam Hipolito, Project Manager NOI25 of the Habitat for Humanity Philippines said that the construction of the facility was based on their building standards and cost P1 million.
Atty. Estefanio Libutan Jr., city administrator, and Happy Raagas, NOI25-Chief of Party of Humanity For Habitat Philippines, led the ceremonial cutting of ribbon, witnessed by City Planning Development Coordinator Engr. Magnolia Antonio, Officer In-charge of the City Social Welfare and Development Office Edena Dagondon, and Punong Barangay Danny Suan of Barangay Palampas.
Libutan said that the said center is expected to assist children in their development care; thanked the Habitat for Humanity and other stakeholders for the said facility.
Dagondon, on the other hand, said that the newly-completed Child Development Center is the 71st building in San Carlos and may accommodate children living in Sitios Burlis, Tunga, Sta. Ana, Estampar since it is closer to them compared to the center at Alger Community Center.*
