Patricia Mae Maglaque’s secret to passing the September 2024 Licensure Examination for Teachers was getting enough sleep and rest.
Maglaque ranked 7th in the September 2024 (Elementary Level) after garnering 92.80 percent in the exam.
She is one of the 251 newly licensed teachers from the first-time examinees from CHMSU Alijis, Binalbagan, and Talisay (Main) campuses – 75 in the Elementary Level and 176 in the Secondary Level.
CHMSU also ranked 6th among the top-performing schools at the Elementary Level with 50 to 99 first-time examinees with at least a 90 percent passing rate.
At first, she didn’t see her name in the list of passers, said Maglaque, a Cum Laude graduate of Bachelor of Special Needs Education at CHMSU Talisay Campus.
“I still remember Miss Kane Sheena Ambong telling me before graduating that I will place in the topnotchers of the exam,” shared Maglaque, adding that her former college teacher broke the exciting news to her.
Maglaque shared her deep gratitude for the tireless support of her parents, the companionship of her friends, and the invaluable knowledge imparted by her elementary, high school, review center mentors, and college teachers.
College of Education Dean Ophelia Duayan congratulated the passers and challenged them to use their license to become teachers who nurture students.
“This ranking of CHMSU in the top-performing schools shows our commitment to providing quality education,” Duayan added.
Maglaque also reminded the graduating classes of 2025 to never let the pressure of taking the board exam get to them, adding that finding time to rest and refresh their minds will be key to performing well in the LET.
The resident of Brgy. Robles in the Municipality of La Castellana shared that she started reviewing three months before the exam.
As one of the “pandemic babies” of the Teacher Education Program of CHMSU, Maglaque said she fondly remembers the times that she shared with her friends and teachers during face-to-face classes. Her batch only began in-person classes starting their third year.
“Having my friends and me all pass the LET feels like the icing on the cake,” added the topnotcher.*
