Carlos Hilado Memorial State University (CHMSU) Talisay Campus held Intramurals Fest 2022 on December 5-7 with the theme “Propelling Potentials in Sports and Arts Amidst the Pandemic,” the first full, in-person intramurals after a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Although the school conducted virtual and hybrid activities in 2020 and 202, this was one of the most anticipated activities of the year and students welcomed it with excitement and energy.
Four units, namely Blue Alphas, Red Cheetahs, Green Griffins and Orange Tigers, participated in various events organized by the Office for Student Affairs and Services, Culture and the Arts Office, Sports Affairs, and University Student Government.
Cultural events included competitions such as essay writing, verse choir, folk dance, and pencil rendering, while some sports events were basketball, volleyball, athletics, sepak takraw, swimming and also e-sports.
Among the highlights of the cultural events was the Mr. and Miss Intramurals where sixteen candidates showcased talent, wit, and poise as they competed for the top spot. Izhekiel Larida and Ednalyn Garcia, both from Blue Alphas, were crowned respectively Mr. and Miss Intramurals. The Blue Alphas also won first place in the Cheer-dance Competition.
After three days of competitions, the Blue Alphas came out as the overall champion in both cultural and sports events.
The activity closed with the Victory Fest which featured live bands and DJ performances at the campus multi-purpose gym.*
