In celebration of the 51 newly licensed Civil Engineers (CEs), the Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) Community of Carlos Hilado Memorial State University (CHMSU) Talisay (Main) Campus conducted a Thanksgiving Prayer Rally at the University Gymnasium on December 1.
CHMSU CEs’ outstanding achievement in securing the status as top 3 best performing school across the nation added an extra layer of pride to the said event.
Engr. Roy Gerona set the spiritual journey by sharing a thoughtful biblical reflection, grounding the celebration in the sense of gratitude and recognition.
“[…] Not all of them stayed for four years, some five years, some six years, or more. It’s not the length of stay that matters. What matters is the license that you will get […] So that should inspire [you] to pursue civil engineering until graduation […],” emphasized Engr. Grace Gerona, dean, College of Engineering, during her opening remarks.
The highlight of the event unfolded with the presentation of the 51 newly licensed civil engineers, and testimonies.
Following the heartfelt testimonies, a prayer for the newly licensed engineers took place, led by Gerona.
“[…] I hope that they made you more courageous, dedicated and patient in taking the difficult journey of becoming an engineer,” highlighted Engr. Micheal Forton, program chairperson, BSCE, in his closing remarks.
“Let’s continue to do our very best, always instill excellence to our students and let us continue to give emphasis the importance of having a good character in everything,” Forton added.*
