An ongoing inventory at the Bacolod City Health Office (CHO) has revealed issues in equipment and supplies.
City Legal Officer Karol Joseph Chiu said that the findings included an X-ray unit that has no longer been operational for 2 years already, and a quantity of X-ray films that have already passed their expiration date.
“The thing is, instead of them doing the X-ray procedure, they referred the residents to do it in different [clinics],” he said.
He added that they will check the maintenance record of the X-ray machine and why it reached 2 years without repair.
Another concern is a separate stock of anti-rabies vaccines, which are reportedly nearing their expiration date.
“Mayor Greg has a planned program for the anti-rabies so we’re also looking into it,” said Chiu.
While the services of the CHO is free for indigents, Chiu said that it should be complete with facilities when delivering services to the people.*
