A resolution congratulating Bacolodnon Marces Gayat on his promotion as brigadier general and new assignment as commander of the Civil-Military Operations Regiment (CMOR), Philippine Army, was recently approved by the Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod.
Authored by Councilor Caesar Distrito, the resolution said it is the tradition of the city of Bacolod to recognize the professional achievements of its residents who serve in the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
Brig. Gen. Marces Gayat, a native of this city and a graduate of Negros Occidental High School (NOHS) Class of 1987, recently attained the rank of brigadier general, it said.
Gayat was previously honored as an Outstanding Uniformed Personnel in the Philippines, receiving the Gawad Pilipino Hero Award in August 2025 during the celebration of National Heroes Month, the resolution said.
His promotion was formalized during the oath-taking ceremony for newly promoted generals and flags officers of the AFP, presided over by the President of the Republic of the Philippines on January 7, 2026, it said.
Gayat has also been designated as the Commander of the Civil-Military Operations Regiment (CMOR) of the Philippines Army, a role vital to maintaining strong relations between the military and the communities it serves, the resolution said.
