The Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod is urging concerned agencies to implement safety measures and preparedness protocols to prevent mass casualties or incidents.
The resolution authored by Bacolod Councilor Em Ang, said the safety and well-being of the citizens of Bacolod City are of utmost importance to this Council.
Recent incidents and accidents in various parts of the city have highlighted the need for enhanced safety measures and preparedness protocols, it said.
The resolution said it is the responsibility of the city government to ensure that all necessary measures are in place to prevent mass casualties or incidents and to respond effectively in case of emergencies.
The City Council urges the concerned agencies, including the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office, to conduct a thorough assessment of potential risks and hazards in the city, as well as implement safety measures. It also urges the concerned agencies to develop and implement preparedness protocols, including developing emergency response plans and conducting regular updates; establishing effective communication systems and protocols; and providing training and capacity-building programs for emergency responders.*
