City holds post-MassKara cleanup

With brooms and hoses in hand, the City Administrator’s Office, in coordination with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) – Bacolod, the Bacolod Environment and Natural Resources Office (BENRO), and other key city departments, led a clean-up and flushing operation at major festival sites following the successful 46th MassKara Festival highlights, a press release from the Bacolod City Communications Office said

The clearing and flushing operations took place simultaneously on Wednesday night along Araneta Street and at the Bacolod Public Plaza. Personnel from the General Services Office ensured thorough sanitation. A separate team cleaned Lacson Street, from 4th Street to BS Aquino Drive (Bangga Ramos). Earlier, crews began cleaning the Bacolod City Government Center (BCGC) grounds.

City Administrator Mark Steven Mayo emphasized the importance of maintaining clean and safe public spaces after large-scale celebrations.

“It’s vital that we restore our streets to their clean and safe condition right after the festivities,” Mayo said, commending the BENRO personnel and all city workers “who were crucial in ensuring that every venue was thoroughly cleaned and maintained.”

Personnel from the City Legal Office (CLO) Enforcement Team and Bacolod Traffic and Transportation Management Department (BTTMD) and Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (DRRMO) also participated in the cleanup.

The coordinated effort highlights the city’s commitment to public hygiene and environmental responsibility, ensuring Bacolod remains clean and livable after the festivities.*
