BY CHRYSEE G. SAMILLANO

Bacolod Councilor Renecito Novero is seeking the cooperation of several Bacolodnons, who tested positive for the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) during the August 28 to 29 mass testing conducted in Bacolod City, but could not be contacted by the barangays.

Novero, chair of the Quarantine Center Action Team, said the report they received during a meeting with the Emergency Action Center said this is because the addresses and contact numbers provided by the patients are not accurate.

So health personnel of the barangay and city cannot contact all who tested positive because they cannot be traced, he said.

“We need your cooperation. If you test positive and do not cooperate, you will victimize not only yourself but also your family and the community and this will multiply the problem,” Novero said.

It is a crime not to give the correct information, especially if one is subjected to a swab test, he said.

Novero said that no matter how good or intelligent their anti-Covid program is, if there is no cooperation it will fail and everyone will suffer.

The police is helping the city in identifying, contact-tracing, and extracting these Covid positive patients. If they won’t cooperate, they can be arrested by the police, he said.

Novero is calling on those who participated during the mass testing to get in touch with their respective barangays if they do not know yet the result of their swab tests.*
