The Association of Civil Engineering Students (ACES) of Carlos Hilado Memorial State University (CHMSU) – Talisay conducted EMANATE 2023 with the theme “MyCEtique: The Forces of Nature Uncovering Infinite Potentials,” at the school gymnasium on February 8-9.
“EMANATE 2023” is an annual celebration showcasing academic and non-academic skills and talents of civil engineering (CE) students of CHMSU – Talisay Campus.
This year’s EMANATE is composed of 4 houses, namely House of Agua, House of Fuego, House of Tierra, and House of Viento.
Katherine Rose Taleon, CHMSU ACES President welcomed CE students and addressed the purpose of EMANATE 2023. She hopes to foster the desired unity, camaraderie, and cooperation among CE students, as well as to improve their physical and mental health through the anticipated activities and events. Additionally, to give freshmen a sense of belonging and motivation by letting them know that they are surrounded by people who share their goals.
A pep rally followed, with each house performing their prepared cheers and yells.
Following the rally are the simultaneous events namely, “Likha: A Literary Fair” and “Kinaadman: Genmathling Competition.”
“Hampang: Perya ng Bayan” was held during the afternoon, where each house showcased their skills and talents in various games prepared by the ACES.
By day two of EMANATE 2023, House of Fuego hailed as the overall champion.
Garnering a total score of 175 points, House of Fuego made it on top after dominating in Music Video, Lip Sync, Street Dance, Spoken Word Poetry (Filipino), Patintero-women, Chinese Garter, Tetris, and placing third runner-up and first runner-up in Mr. and Ms. Amity respectively.
House of Viento earned 1st runner-up after clutching and bagging championship title in League of Legends (LOL), Battle of the Bands, Genmathling, sack race, and placing first runner-up and first runner-up in Mr. and Ms. Amity respectively, giving them a total score of 170 points
House of Tierra placed second runner-up in the overall ranking after bagging Ms. Amity title and winning in Patintero-men, Spoken Word Poetry (english), Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, and LOL: Wildrift, gaining a total of 166 points.
Meanwhile, House of Agua, which finished third runner-up, won championship awards for their performances in Mr. Amity 2023, Character Impersonation, and Vocal Solo, and Declamation, giving them a total of 138 points.*
